Dr. Syed Omer Gilani is a faculty member in the Department of Electrical, Computer, and Biomedical Engineering at Abu Dhabi University. He has over a decade of experience in academic research, leadership, and interdisciplinary innovation. Dr. Gilani earned his PhD in Electrical and Computer Engineering from the National University of Singapore and has held progressive academic and administrative roles, including serving as an Associate Professor and Head of Department at the National University of Sciences and Technology (NUST), Pakistan. His research focuses on signal processing, machine learning, healthcare analytics, and intelligent assistive systems. His work includes applications in rehabilitation robotics, biomedical signal analysis, medical imaging, and human-centered intelligent technologies. He has authored an extensive portfolio of peer-reviewed publications in international journals and has led and co-led multiple competitive research grants advancing AI-driven healthcare solutions. In addition to research, Dr. Gilani actively contributes to academic leadership, mentoring, and professional service. As a Senior Member of IEEE and a professionally accredited engineer, he is recognized for advancing impactful research and fostering innovation at the intersection of engineering and healthcare.
